The Fit Guide
Every Morrison fit is named for a persona instead of a body type, and every wash is named for a record. That makes the collection a pleasure to shop and, without a page like this one, slightly hard to buy. So here is everything underneath the names: what the numbers mean, what each fit actually does, and how to land on your size the first time.
Three questions, then a pair
Answer any of them, in any order. We narrow the line as you go, and every answer is reversible.
Pick one answer and the line narrows here. Most people land on a pair in two.
Or skip ahead: see the shapes, meet the personas, or compare every number.
Start with the shape
Six shapes, drawn to the same scale. The hem is the whole difference; look there first.
Meet the personas
Every fit is named for a woman, not a measurement. Here is who each one is, what she wears it with, and the numbers underneath.

Close all the way down, and it tucks into a boot without a fight.
Wear it with: a tall boot and an oversized knit.

The same close line, in the washes that ask for a little more attitude.
Wear it with: a pointed heel and a blazer.

Borrowed and better. Wear it long or turn it once.
Wear it with: a loafer, cuffed once.

Three lengths in one pair, in a firmer semi-rigid denim.
Wear it with: a trainer, rolled.

Cropped over a 16.5 inch opening; the proportion that works with a heel.
Wear it with: a block heel; the crop is the point.

A 33 inch inseam, built for a heel or a stacked boot.
Wear it with: a stacked boot, worn long.

Cropped, with a little more room at the hem.
Wear it with: an ankle boot it clears.

The widest opening in the boot cut line. Reads long from the hip down.
Wear it with: a heel it can break over.

Straight and easy. The one that goes with everything you own.
Wear it with: a white sneaker and a tee.

Menswear lines in a soft garment-dyed twill. Four days a week.
Wear it with: a flat and a tucked-in shirt.

Wide and polished; the dressier side of the garment-dyed twill.
Wear it with: a kitten heel and a silk top.

Statement patch pockets and an easy full leg.
Wear it with: a platform sandal and a cropped tank.
Three numbers decide everything
Those three tell you more about how a jean will sit than any size label. A 16.5 inch opening breaks over a boot. A 10 inch opening tucks into one. That single number is most of the difference between two pairs that look alike on a hanger.

The fabric
Nearly everything we make is 98% cotton and 2% spandex. What changes is the hand. Three families, named once and used everywhere.
Will they stretch out?
In the super soft stretch, a little, and then they come back. Two percent spandex gives you an hour or two of ease across the day; a wash resets it. That is why we suggest taking the smaller size if you are between two and want them close.

Sizes 33 and 34 on selected styles.
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, above the hip bone and below the ribs, with the tape comfortably loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your seat, keeping the tape level with the floor.
Measure from the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to where you want the jean to end. Compare that number to the inseam published on the style you are looking at.
Almost everything we make is a super soft stretch denim, so it gives a little with wear and comes back with a wash. If you want them close, take the smaller. If you want to forget you are wearing them, take the larger. Check the fabric on the style you are buying; a few of ours are cut in something firmer, and those we would take true to size.
